Furniture Design Intern

Zak Rose Design studio

I spent three months working in a furniture design shop in Chicago. This design shop is part of a large collective of five studios sharing workshops and office space. I worked as part of a 10-person team to design, assemble, and install various pieces of custom furniture for local residential, commercial, and museum clients (e.g., Art Institute of Chicago, Salt Shed, Korean Culture Center of Chicago, etc.). I utilized technical skills such as carpentry, inventory and workflow management, and freehand sketching.

Residential Client: Floating wooden cubby system (assisted with design, assembly, and installation)
Korean Culture Center of Chicago: Wooden wall art (assisted with design, assembly, and installation)
Residential Client: Wooden cabinet and shelf system (assisted with assembly and installation)
